Ajda Pekkan - Aynen Öyle (Suat Ateşdağlı Remix)

One of the most prominent Turkish DJs, in my opinion, is currently the best remixer of tracks published by some of the most prominent Turkish vocalists. In 2007, Suat Ateşdağlı released the first of his now infamous compilation mix albums: Bosphorus Night. At the time, I am sure he didn't even dare to dream of the success it achieved. I stumbled across it more or less 'by accident', being a fan of the Arabic sound and looking around for new, fresh dance music in Istanbul. The album was so successful in fact, that Suat released a Vol.2, a Vol.3 and, earlier this year, a Vol.4.
The previous edition included a track by iconic Ajda Pekkan. Funny enough, the original version sounds very Turkish: a bit over the top, almost dramatic, but slow and full of passion. Suat's remixes transforms these tracks. Listen for yourself. And if you like it, I can recommend the entire series of Bosphrus Night: available here and here and here and, finally, here... - but hurry, they sell like hot cakes.

Ajda Pekkan - Aynen Öyle (Suat Ateşdağlı Remix)

Lyrics:

Aynen Öyle

Bugün takvime baktım
Yaprağını kopardım attım
Seni tanıyacağımı bilseydim
Yapar mıydım (atar mıydım)
Unutma bugün bu tarihi
Bu aşkımızın ilk sahnesi
Yüreğime indi perdesi
Aynen öyle aynen öyle
Unutma bu günü bu tarihi
Kelimelere sığmaz tarifi
Dize getirdim talihi
Aynen öyle aynen öyle
Kalem yazar tükenir
Kader yazar tükenmez
Tükenmesin sevgimiz
Aynen öyle aynen öyle
Hemen koşa koşa evime gittim
Evimin altını üstüne getirdim
Tarih burada kader burada
Yaprağında
Aynen öyle aynen öyle

English translation:

Yes, exactly

Today I looked at the calendar,
I picked it off and threw it away,
I wouldn't do it
if I knew I'd get to know you today.

Today I looked at the calendar,
I picked it off and threw it away,
I wouldn't do it
if I knew I'd get to know you today.

Note the date today,
This is the first scene of our love.
Its curtain has come down on to my heart (like in theatre)
Yes exactly, just like that..

Don't forget the date today,
Words are insufficient to describe it,
I've beaten the destiny to its knees.
Just like that, just like that..

The pen writes, and it runs out,
The destiny writes but it doesn't run out.
May our love not be exhausted/consumed/run out,
Just like that, just like that..

The pen writes, and it runs out,
The destiny writes but it doesn't run out.
May our love not be exhausted/consumed/run out,
Just like that, just like that..

I rushed home running immediately,
I turned my flat all upside down,
The history is here, the destiny is here,
on this calendar paper.
