Faithless

Back in the summer of 1995 Maxwell Fraser, a.k.a. Maxi Jazz, Ayalah Bentovim, a.k.a. Sister Bliss and Roland Armstrong, a.k.a. Rollo, ganged up to form a project that would go on to reach legendary status in the world of dance electronica: Faithless. Tracks such as Insomnia, God is a DJ and We Come 1 have become anthems of the underground before conquering the mainstream. During the lifetime of the project they sold more than 15 million records worldwide.
The band have now officially split up after the climax of their 'Passing The Baton' dates at Brixton Academy on 7 & 8 April 2011. But fear not, if you have missed the two days on my home turf, Faithless are giving a last show on 22 July 2011 at the Tomorrowland festival in Belgium.

Faithless - Insomnia by Hakunamatata67

Lyrics:

Deep in the bosom of the gentle night
Is when I search for the light
Pick up my pen and start to write
I struggle, fight dark forces
In the clear moon light
Without fear... insomnia
I can't get no sleep

I used to worry, thought I was goin' mad in a hurry
Gettin' stress, makin' excess mess in darkness
No electricity, something's all over me, greasy
Insomnia please release me and let me dream of
Makin' mad love to my girl on the heath
Tearin' off tights with my teeth
But there's no release, no peace
I toss and turn without cease
Like a curse, open my eyes and rise like yeast
At least a couple of weeks
Since I last slept, kept takin' sleepers
But now I keep myself pepped
Deeper still, that night I write by candle light
I find insight, fundamental movement, uh
So when it's black this insomniac take an original tack
Keep the beast in my nature under ceaseless attack
I gets no sleep
I can't get no sleep

I can't get no sleep, I can't get no sleep
I need to sleep, although I get no sleep

Lyrics:

This is my church
This is where I heal my hurts
It's a natural grace
Of watching young life shape
It's in minor keys
Solutions and remedies
Enemies becoming friends
When bitterness ends
This is my church
This is my church
This is where I heal my hurts
It's in the world I become
Contained in the hum
Between voice and drum
It's in the change
The poetic justice of cause and effect
Respect, love, compassion
This is my church
This is where I heal my hurts
For tonight
God is a DJ
God is a DJ
This is my church
