Lyrics:
See reflections on the water
more than darkness in the depths
see him surface in every shadow
on the wind I feel his breath
Goldeneye I found his weakness
Goldeneye he'll do what I please
Goldeneye no time for sweetness
but a bitter kiss will bring him to his knees
You'll never know how I watched you
from the shadows as a child
you'll never know how it feels to be the one
who's left behind
You'll never know the days, the nights,
the tears, the tears I've cried
but now my time has come
and time, time is not on your side
See home move through smoke and mirrors
feel his presence in the crowd
other girls they gather around him
if I had him I wouldn't let him out
Goldeneye not lace or leather
Golden chains take him to the spot
goldeneye I'll show him forever
it'll take forever to see
what I've got
You'll never know how I watched you
from the shadows as a child
you'll never know how it feels to be so close
and be denied
It's a gold and honey trap
I've got for you tonight
Revenge it's a kiss, this time I won't miss
now I've got you in my sight
With a Goldeneye, golden, Goldeneye
with a Goldeneye, Goldeneye.

Lyrics:
Thank you for coming home
I'm sorry that the chairs are all worn
I left them here I could have sworn
these are my salad days
slowly being eaten away
just another play for today
oh but I'm proud of you,but I'm proud of you
nothing left to make me feel small
luck has left me standing so tall
gold
always believe in your soul
you've got the power to know
you're indestructable
always believe in,because you are
gold
glad that you're bound to return
there's something I could have learned
you're indestructable,always believe in
after the rush has gone
I hope you find a little more time
remember we were partners in crime
it's only two years ago
the man with the suit and the pace
you knew that he was there on the case
now he's in love with you,he's in love with you
my love is like a hard prison wall
but you could leave me standing so tall
gold
always believe in your soul
you've got the power to know
you're indestructable
always believe in,because you are
gold
I'm glad that you're bound to return
something I could have learned
you're indestructable,always believe in
my love is like a hard prison wall
but you could leave me standing so tall
gold
always believe in your soul
you've got the power to know
you're indestructable
always believe in,because you are
gold
I'm glad that you're bound to return
something I could have learned
you're indestructable,always believe in

Lyrics:
Each day I live
I want to be
A day to give
The best of me
I'm only one
But not alone
My finest day
Is yet unknown
I broke my heart
Fought every gain
To taste the sweet
I face the pain
I rise and fall
Yet through it all
This much remains
I want one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will feel
I will feel eternity
I've lived to be
The very best
I want it all
No time for less
I've laid the plans
Now lay the chance
Here in my hands
Give me one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will feel
I will feel eternity
You're a winner for a lifetime
If you seize that one moment in time
Make it shine
Give me one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will be
I will be
I will be free
I will be
I will be free
Gotye & Ghost - Somebody I Used To Know (2011)
Somebody That I Used to Know was written and recorded by Belgian-Australian singer and songwriter Gotye, featuring New Zealand singer Kimbra. The song was released in Australia and New Zealand in July 2011 as the second single from his third studio album, 'Making Mirrors'. It was later released by Universal Music in December 2011 in the United Kingdom, and in January 2012 in the United States and enjoyed astonishing success around the world: as of May 2012, the song has sold more than one million copies in the United Kingdom becoming the best selling single of the year so far; and five million in the United States. It is the most downloaded song of all time in Belgium, the Netherlands' most successful chart single ever (although other singles have sold more copies), and the third best-selling digital single in Germany. "Somebody That I Used to Know" has sold more than seven million copies worldwide, becoming one of the best-selling digital singles of all time.
Since then it has been sampled, remixed and covered numerous times, amongst them by two of the cast of the musical Ghost.

Lyrics:
[Gotye:]
Now and then I think of when we were together
Like when you said you felt so happy you could die
Told myself that you were right for me
But felt so lonely in your company
But that was love and it's an ache I still remember
You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness
Like resignation to the end, always the end
So when we found that we could not make sense
Well you said that we would still be friends
But I'll admit that I was glad it was over
But you didn't have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing
And I don't even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger and that feels so rough
No you didn't have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records and then change your number
I guess that I don't need that though
Now you're just somebody that I used to know
Now you're just somebody that I used to know
Now you're just somebody that I used to know
[Kimbra:]
Now and then I think of all the times you screwed me over
But had me believing it was always something that I'd done
But I don't wanna live that way
Reading into every word you say
You said that you could let it go
And I wouldn't catch you hung up on somebody that you used to know
[Gotye:]
But you didn't have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing
And I don't even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger and that feels so rough
No you didn't have to stoop so low

Kim Wilde
I first heard of Kim at the tender age of 9, when my twelve year older sister blasted Kids in America through our flat, jumping up and down. It was fun bouncing around the house with her. More aware I became of Kim at the release of her 1988 album 'Close' - having just proudly invested all the money I received from family and relatives for the 'Jugendweihe' (the 'Coming of Age' celebrations as a youngster in East Germany) - in my first Stereo Cassette Recorder.
Back then western media (music and TV) was prohibited from consuming, being classified as 'capitalist smut' - seriously... - but a brave Radio Station in Berlin called 'DT64' which was aimed at the younger generation was testing the communist gouvernment's limits by airing a complete album of a popular artist each weekend. One of them was Kim Wilde's 'Close'.
Kim Smith, a.k.a, Kim Wilde, daughter of 1950s Rock'n'Roller Reginald Smith, a.k.a. Marty Wilde, and Joyce Baker of The Vernons Girls, is a London girl, being born on 18 Nov 1960 in Chiswick. She attended Oakfield Prep School in Dulwich (woo-hoo, she's a neighbour! :-) before moving with her family to Hertfordshire, and completing a foundation course at St. Albans College of Art & Design in 1980. That year Kim was signed to RAK Records. She burst onto the music scene in 1981 with the New Wave classic 'Kids in America', which her brother, Ricky Smith, a.k.a Ricky Wilde, wrote for her in his bedroom. Kim shot to instant fame, particulary in continental Europe, while success in the US was largely subdued. Several successful single releases followed.
Failure of her 1983 Album Catch As Catch Can led to her leaving RAK Records and her being signed to MCA Records, where her career re-ignited with the 1984 album Teases and Dares.
Kim Wilde holds the record for being the most-charted British solo female act of the 1980s, with seventeen UK Top 40 singles. In France, she was known as the 'Brigitte Bardot of Rock' and her song 'Cambodia' sold over a million copies. A number of artists have performed covers of Kim Wilde songs, ranging from pop and rock to dance and death metal versions.
Having married and giving birth to children, Kim switched down a gear in her life, becoming a reconised Landscape Gardener. While her brother also choe the same route, her sister Roxanne is currently background singer for Kylie Minogue.
In 2010, Kim signed a new record deal with another label called Starwatch who released her eleventh studio album, 'Come Out and Play'.

Lyrics:
Dance, yes
Love, next
Dance, yes
Love, next
Shimmy Shimmy yah, Shimmy yam
Shimmy yay
I'm a ol' dirty dog all day
No way Jose
Your girl only go one way, ay mi madre
You should check that out
Maybe you ain't turn her out
Maybe it's none of my business
But for now work it out
Let's get this, dale
Nobody knows what i'm feeling inside
I find it so stupid
So why should I hide
That I love to make love to you baby
(yeah make love to me)
So many ways wanna touch you tonight
I'm a big girl got no secrets this time
Yeah I love to make love to you baby
(yeah make love to me)
If this would be a perfect world
We'd be together then
(let's do it do it do it)
Only got just one life this i've learned
Who cares what they're gonna say
(let's do it do it do it)
I wanna dance, and love, and dance again
I wanna dance, and love, and dance again
Dance, yes
Love, next
Dance, yes
Love, next
Baby your fire is lighting me up
The way that you move boy is reason enough
That I love to make love to you baby
(yeah make love to me)
I can't behave
Oh I want you so much
Your lips taste like heaven
So why should I stop?
Yeah I love to make love to you baby
(yeah make love to me)
If this would be a perfect world
We'd be together then
(let's do it do it do it)
Only got just one life this i've learned
Who cares what they're gonna say
(let's do it do it do it)
I wanna dance, and love, and dance again
I wanna dance, and love, and dance again
Mr Worldwide, and the world's most beautiful woman
Modern day Hugh Hef (uh, yes)
Playboy to the death (uh, yes)
Is he really worldwide? (uh, yes)
Mami let me open your treasure chest
Play dates, we play mates
I'm the king at snatching queens, checkmate
What you think?
It's a rumor
I'm really out of this world
Moon, luna
Make woman comfortable
Call me bloomer
Can't even show love cause they'll sue ya
But I told them, 'hallelujah, have a blessed day'
So ahead of myself
Everyday's yesterday
Want the recipe? it's real simple
Little bit of voli, and she'll open sesame
Now dance yes
Love next
Dance yes
Love next
If this would be a perfect world
We'd be together then
(let's do it do it do it)
Only got just one life this i've learned
Who cares what they're gonna say
(let's do it do it do it)

Lyrics:
I threw a wish in the well,
Don't ask me, I'll never tell
I looked to you as it fell,
And now you're in my way
I'd trade my soul for a wish,
Pennies and dimes for a kiss
I wasn't looking for this,
But now you're in my way
Your stare was holdin',
Ripped jeans, skin was showin'
Hot night, wind was blowin'
Where you think you're going, baby?
Hey, I just met you,
And this is crazy,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?
It's hard to look right,
At you baby,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?
Hey, I just met you,
And this is crazy,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?
And all the other boys,
Try to chase me,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?
You took your time with the call,
I took no time with the fall
You gave me nothing at all,
But still, you're in my way
I beg, and borrow and steal
Have foresight and it's real
I didn't know I would feel it,
But it's in my way
Your stare was holdin',
Ripped jeans, skin was showin'
Hot night, wind was blowin'
Where you think you're going, baby?
Hey, I just met you,
And this is crazy,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?
It's hard to look right,
At you baby,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?
Hey, I just met you,
And this is crazy,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?
And all the other boys,
Try to chase me,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?
Before you came into my life
I missed you so bad
I missed you so bad
I missed you so, so bad
Before you came into my life
I missed you so bad
And you should know that
I missed you so, so bad
It's hard to look right,
At you baby,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?
Hey, I just met you,
And this is crazy,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?

Enrique Iglesias - Sad Eyes (2000)
Everyone seems to think Enrique Igleasias, son of Julio Iglesias, is this fluffy little vocalist, but there's more:
Back in September 2000, Enrique decided to cover Bruce Springsteen's 'Sad Eyes', which apart from scoring #8 in the US Dance Charts and #34 in the official US Billboard Charts, went largey ignored. But this is why I love remixes - HQ2, an Australian DJ outfit gave it a once over and the tune appeared on dancefloors. Eric Kupper did the same in the US.
But the question is, why did Enrique Iglesias' handlers ditch the gem of a music video to the track, featuring a naked Enrique cavorting with a stripper who dances around a pole that extends from between his legs? Can't they see this is art? The video for Enrique's cover of Bruce Springsteen's Sad Eyes randomly surfaced on David LaChapelle's website (I told you: art!) and has begun to make the rounds, with responses from somewhere between OMG and WTF.
Mr. Iglesias' phallic fantasy begins with an ode to the loneliness of fame, watching a video of himself performing, then flips channels to a phone sex ad, and he is drawn in sexy trance towards the glowing screen. He then goes cruising for hosin a fancy car and finds the sex ad lady (played by porn star Cassidey, says Tabloid Prodigy ), who is a sad but lighthearted whore who comes to his home and dances the 10-foot steel pole that stands erect between his legs. But wait! Was it all a dream? A possibly-jacking-off Enrique alone in bed with a nudie magazine featuring a trashy picture of sex ad lady. All in all: an indisputable cinematic triumph for the son of Julio Iglesias, rife with pathos and cleavage.
Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler, better known as Enrique Iglesias, started his musical career on Mexican label Fonovisa. This helped turn him into one of the most popular artists in Latin America and in the Hispanic or Latino market in the US, and the biggest seller of Spanish language albums for a number of years. Before the turn of the millennium, he made a crossover into the mainstream English language market, signing a deal with Universal Music Group for an unprecedented US$48 million to release his Spanish albums (and Interscope to release the English versions). Last year he parted with Interscope and signed with Universal Republic.

Lyrics:
Every day here you come walking
I hold my tongue, I don't do much talking
You say you're happy and you're doin' fine
Well go ahead, baby, I got plenty of time
Sad eyes never lie
Sad eyes never lie
Well for a while I've been watching you steady
Ain't gonna move 'til you're good and ready
You show up and then you shy away
But I know pretty soon you'll be walkin' this way
Sad eyes never lie
Sad eyes never lie
Baby don't you know I don't care
Don't you know that I've been there
Well if something in the air feels a little unkind
Don't worry darling, it'll slip your mind
I know you think you'd never be mine
Well that's okay, baby, I don't mine
that shy smile's sweet, that's a fact
Go ahead, I don't mind the act
Here you come all dressed up for a date
Well one more step and it'll be too late
Blue blue ribbon in you hair
Like you're so sure I'll be standing there
Sad eyes never lie
Sad eyes never lie
Sad eyes never lie
Sad eyes never lie
Back in September 2000, Enrique decided to cover Bruce Springsteen's 'Sad Eyes', which apart from scoring #8 in the US Dance Charts and #34 in the official US Billboard Charts, went largey ignored. But this is why I love remixes - HQ2, an Australian DJ outfit gave it a once over and the tune appeared on dancefloors. Eric Kupper did the same in the US.

Demet Akalin - Zirve (2010)
Here is to recommend the album 'Zirve' of Turkish Model-come-Pop-Diva Demet Akalın, one of the most famous singers in Turkey.
Like me, vintage 1972, her songs, mostly become summer hits and usually include lyrics about broken relationships, fights and being stronger afterwards. She became famous a decade ago having a relationship with the famous basketball player Ibrahim Kutluay. They broke up and she started her music career with her hit single 'Senin Anan Güzel Mi' and became popular with the hit album 'Unuttum'.
Several albums followed, which all received not only crtical acclaim, but were also hugely successful, with Demet picking up Best Song Award in Kral TV Music Awards 2005, the most prestigious music award in Turkey (similar to the Brits or the Grammys), the Altın Kelebek and MÜYAP Golden Record.
Having been liking her for years, I picked up her album Zirve on holidays last year - her best album yet. Here three tracks which became my favourites for months.

Lyrics:
Yellow diamonds in the light
And we're standing side by side
As your shadow crosses mine
What it takes to come alive
Because the way I'm feeling I just can't deny
But I gotta let it go
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
Shine a light through an open door
Love and life I will divide
Turn away cause I need you more
Feel the heartbeat in my mind
Because the way I'm feeling I just can't deny
But I gotta let it go
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
Yellow diamonds in the light

Lyrics:
Uh huh huh,
Oh yeah,
Work, work
Somebody told me,
"Boy, everything she wants is everything she sees"
I guess I must have loved you.
'Cause I said you were the perfect girl for me,
Maybe,
But now we're six months older,
And everything you want and everything you see,
Is out of reach, not good enough,
I don't know what the hell you want from me but boy
Uh huh huh,
Oh, oh,
Uh huh huh,
Doo doo doo,
La la la la
Somebody tell me,
Won't you tell me,
Why I work so hard for you?
All to give you money
All to give you money
Some people work for a living,
Some people work for fun,
Girl, I just work for you.
They told me marriage was a give and take,
Well, show me you can take you've got some giving to do.
And now you tell me that you're having my baby,
I'll tell you that I'm happy if you want me to
One step further and my back will break,
If my best isn't good enough
Than how can it be good enough for two?
I can't work any harder than I do
Somebody tell me,
Won't you tell me,
Why I work so hard for you?
All to give you money,
All to give you money
Oh,
Why do I do the things I do?
I'd tell you if I knew.
My God,
I don't even think that I love you,
Won't you tell me,
Tell me, tell me, tell me
How could you settle for a boy like me,
When all I could see was the end of the week
All the things we sign,
And the things we buy,
Ain't gonna keep us together,
It's just a matter of time.
My situation,
Never changes.
Walking in that manner through that door,
Like a stranger,
But the wages,
I give you all you say you want is love
And all I can see is the end of the week,
All the things we sign,
And the things we buy,
Ain't gonna keep us together
Girl, it's just a matter of time.

Lyrics:
Let me take you to the place
Where membership's a smiling face,
Brush shoulders with the stars.
Where strangers take you by the hand,
And welcome you to wonderland -
From beneath their panamas...
Club Tropicana, drinks are free,
Fun and sunshine - there's enough for everyone.
All that's missing is the sea,
But don't worry, you can suntan!
Castaways and Lovers meet,
Then kiss in Tropicana's heat,
Watch the waves break on the bay.
Soft white sands, a blue lagoon,
Cocktail time, a summer's tune,
A whole night's holiday!
Club Tropicana, drinks are free,
Fun and sunshine - there's enough for everyone.
All that's missing is the sea,
But don't worry, you can suntan!
Pack your bags,
And leave tonight.
Don't take your time,
Gotta move your feet, don't you miss the flight!
Cool, cool, cool, cool
Club Tropicana, drinks are free,
Fun and sunshine - there's enough for everyone.
All that's missing is the sea,
But don't worry, you can suntan!
Cool, cool, cool, cool
Christina Aguilera - Hurt (2006)
During Christina Aguilera'S recording session of her album Back to Basics, Christina asked her songwriter Linda Perry to help her write a song about losing someone, as she felt that it was yet a subject to tackle in her music. Linda was very open with this idea and thought she could relate to it really well because she had just recently lost her father. She wrote out most of the lyrics to 'Hurt' before showing it to Christina, who thought however, that it was too much of a personal song for Linda, because of many references to her loss. Christina then decided she wanted to change some of the lyrics, so she took the song, and re-wrote many of the words to make it more appealing to any listener who lost a loved one in their life. Although it is not known if the original version of Linda's song was ever recorded, the one that made the album cut was the version co-written by both of them.

Live at the Grammys:
Lyrics:
Seems like it was yesterday when I saw your face
You told me how proud you were but I walked away
If only I knew what I know today
I would hold you in my arms
I would take the pain away
Thank you for all you've done
Forgive all your mistakes
There's nothing I wouldn't do
To hear your voice again
Sometimes I want to call you but I know you won't be there
I'm sorry for blaming you for everything I just couldn't do
And I've hurt myself by hurting you
Some days I feel broke inside but I won't admit
Sometimes I just want to hide 'cause it's you I miss
You know it's so hard to say goodbye when it comes to this
Would you tell me I was wrong?
Would you help me understand?
Are you looking down upon me?
Are you proud of who I am?
There's nothing I wouldn't do
To have just one more chance
To look into your eyes and see you looking back
I'm sorry for blaming you for everything I just couldn't do
And I've hurt myself
If I had just one more day, I would tell you how much that
I've missed you since you've been away
Oh, it's dangerous
It's so out of line to try to turn back time
I'm sorry for blaming you for everything I just couldn't do
And I've hurt myself
By hurting you

Lyrics:
Sometimes you're better off dead
There's gun in your hand and it's pointing at your head
You think you're mad, too unstable
Kicking in chairs and knocking down tables
In a restaurant in a West End town
Call the police, there's a madman around
Running down underground to a dive bar
In a West End town
In a West End town, a dead end world
The East End boys and West End girls
In a West End town, a dead end world
The East End boys and West End girls
West End girls
Too many shadows, whispering voices
Faces on posters, too many choices
If, when, why, what?
How much have you got?
Have you got it, do you get it, if so, how often?
And which do you choose, a hard or soft option?
(How much do you need?)
In a West End town, a dead end world
The East End boys and West End girls
In a West End town, a dead end world
The East End boys and West End girls
West End girls
West End girls
(How much do you need?)
In a West End town, a dead end world
The East End boys and West End girls
Oooh West End town, a dead end world
East End boys, West End Girls
West End girls
You've got a heart of glass or a heart of stone
Just you wait 'til I get you home
We've got no future, we've got no past
Here today, built to last
In every city, in every nation
From Lake Geneva to the Finland station
(How far have you been?)
In a West End town, a dead end world
The East End boys and West End girls
A West End town, a dead end world
East End Boys, West End girls
West End girls
West End girls
West End girls
(How far have you been?)
Girls
East End boys
And West End girls
And West End girls
(... forever)
And West End girls

Lyrics:
Once upon a time
Not so long ago
Tommy used to work on the docks
Unions been on strike
He's down on his luck... it's tough, so tough
Gina works the diner all day
Working for her man, she brings home her pay
For love - for love
She says we've got to hold on to what we've got
Cause it doesn't make a difference
If we make it or not
We've got each other and that's a lot
For love - well give it a shot
Whooah, we're half way there
Livin on a prayer
Take my hand and we'll make it - I swear
Livin on a prayer
Tommy's got his six string in hock
Now he's holding in what he used
To make it talk - so tough, it's tough
Gina dreams of running away
When she cries in the night
Tommy whispers baby it's okay, someday
We've got to hold on to what we've got
Cause it doesn't make a difference
If we make it or not
We've got each other and that's a lot
For love - well give it a shot
Whooah, we're half way there
Livin on a prayer
Take my hand and we'll make it - I swear
Livin on a prayer
We've got to hold on ready or not
You live for the fight when it's all that you've got
Whooah, we're half way there
Livin on a prayer
Take my hand and we'll make it - I swear
Livin on a prayer

Lyrics:
I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
While you're far away and dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Where every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure
Don't want to close my eyes
I don't want to fall asleep
Cause I'd miss you babe
And I don't want to miss a thing
Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you babe
And I don't want to miss a thing
Lying close to you feeling your heart beating
And I'm wondering what you're dreaming
Wondering if it's me you're seeing
Then I kiss your eyes
And thank God we're together
I just want to stay with you in this moment forever
Forever and ever
I don't want to close my eyes
I don't want to fall asleep
Cause I'd miss you babe
And I don't want to miss a thing
Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you babe
And I don't want to miss a thing
I don't want to miss one smile
I don't want to miss one kiss
I just want to be with you
Right here with you, just like this
I just want to hold you close
Feel your heart so close to mine
And just stay here in this moment
For all the rest of time Yeah yeah yeah
I don't want to close my eyes
I don't want to fall asleep
Cause I'd miss you babe
And I don't want to miss a thing
Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you babe
And I don't want to miss a thing
I Don't want to close my eyes
I don't want to fall asleep
