Kristine W.

Kristine Weitz, a.k.a Kristine W., is a former Miss Washington (1981) and, more importantly to me, one of the most prominent female dance music vocalists on the US club circuit.
She spent several years performing in Las Vegas lounges before being discovered. Kristine W & the Sting performed at the Silver Slipper Casino, at The Mint Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Hilton and Studio 54 at the MGM Grand. Kristine was signed to RCA Records and began work on an album which would be a collaboration with Rollo Armstrong and Rob D. Her first single, 'One More Try', was issued in 1996.
A year later, on my first trip to New York in 1997 I discovered her my own record collection and I have never lost sight of her since.
With subsequent follow up single releases she managed to win over further DJs and inspired the who-is-who of remixers to produce what would go on as club classics:

'Feel What You Want' was re-released and included by Jonathan Peters, which was one of the most popular tracks at his Friday night DJ residency. Junior Vasquez was asked to produce remixes of several tracks which weren't released commercially but instead distributed to select DJs, making them regional club hits in the New York metro area, particularly at Junior's weekly parties.
According to the biography posted on her official website, Kristine spent two years battling leukemia, which forced her to take a long break. At her return she was able to pick up just were she left off. She toured as part of an ensemble called 'DJs Are Alive'.
In 2004, she surpassed Madonna and Janet Jackson’s record of seven #1 songs in a row! The next year, Kristine W broke her own record with the release of 'Wonder of It All', her ninth consecutive #1. Today, having a total of fifteen songs reach the number one position, she now ties Mariah Carey for third-most toppers.
There is not many videos of her available on youtube.com but here are a few good examples. Her albums and single releases are selling like hot cakes in the US - time to make her more popular in the rest of the world, incl. good old Europe.
